Marchy things

This blog is going to the pooper.

I am beyond behind.

Campbell turned three months last week, and I started working.

Campbell clearly didn't get the "you can't cry anymore because your mom is working again" memo.

I have never been this disorganized in my life. Wait, I take that back, I should probably revisit my life say in January. Let's be honest, that whole newborn stuff is for the birds. Eating every 2 hours, being a jersey cow, changing a gazillion diapers each day...yah I'm glad we've made significant progress in just two months.

But enough complaining...my little girl is growing!

And as precious as can be, if I do say so myself!

See what I mean?

I survived my first week back at work. And it wasn't bad at all. I love having the adult interaction back. I love that someone who knows far more than me about raising a child is doing all these cool things with her. Ms. Vicki is amazing. She keeps my sugar bear super busy. Every day they do floor exercises and tummy time. I didn't even know babies could do floor exercises. These help with their stability and balance. Hmmm good to know. She does eye tracking exercises with her too. Campbell's favorite part of the day is when the toddlers sing all their songs and story time. Burst out with the ABC's, and Cam is all smiles.

We did educational things too when I had Campbell at home all day (like go to Target and avoid being at home.)

I was not made to be a stay at home mom. Sure it was sad leaving her those first couple of days. And I miss her like crazy at work. But I like what I do. I worked hard to get to where I'm at. I enjoy the pace and hectic-ness. I like having a schedule. I like that we are putting money aside monthly to pay for her college.

And I like shopping. And you can't shop without a job.

Penny: "Yah,part of me is glad I'm back at work so I can buy Campbell cute things."
Randy: (disgusted) "You mean like her insurance, formula, and day care. Not cute things."

Ha! I bought her two new outfits from zulily on my first day back at work. It was my "reward" for making it through the morning.

There will be cute things in store for Campbell!

So here's to work.

And here's to working in a place where I get 9 weeks off during the year.

So here's to 45 more days left in the school year! (one of my sixth graders told me this number, so I can't verify yet. I've been catching up and checking my 500 something emails).

And lastly, here's to bedtime.

Doomsday!

Where did the last three months go?

Tomorrow is going to SUCK!

I go back to work, and I know I'm going to cry buckets.

I made Campbell promise she wouldn't do any of that cute business she does so well from the hours of 7:30am-5pm.

Oh, what a long day ahead I have.

Big girl pants are ironed for tomorrow. I might even need a Starbucks!

2 months

Campbell- 2 months

You are a growing girl!!!

At your two month check up, you weighed 12 lbs, 8 oz. (75-90th percentile) and measured 24 inches long (90-95th percentile).

This month has been challenging with figuring out the solution to a milk protein intolerance. After we got all that figured out, we started to see big smiles and developmental changes. It's been fun!

Highlights

Eating: You are always hungry! You eat every 3-4 hours. Additionally we give you a teaspoon of dark Karo syrup in two of your bottles and prune/apple juice mixed with water once every other day to help umm keep things moving. You love both of these additions. I suspect we will have a pecan pie lover later in life.

Pooping: You now struggle with this and gas. You have TONS of gas. And you do quite a lot of grunting.

As you can see your mother has no problem discussing poops and toots. Who would of thought talking about poop would be a dinner conversation these days?

Sleeping: On average you can make it 5 hours before you wake up for your feeding. One day you surprised me with making it to 8 hours, but then you deflated my hope balloon by waking up 5 times throughout the night the very next day.

Size: You are wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. Some of your footed pajamas are starting to get too small. Your legs are so long and it's causing your knees to buckle.

Your mom is obsessed with hair bows, dresses, and all things frilly. You look great in blue and lilac which compliments your baby blue eyes. Oh I hope they don't change color.

Responding: You are obsessed with bright lights and the television. You love watching both of these and stare at them for hours. You are making more and more eye contact. At 7 weeks you started smiling. Each day we get more and more smiles out of you. This melts your momma's heart. You also can find me anywhere in the room by listening for my voice.

Tummy time is happening for about 30 minutes throughout the day. You have such a strong neck.

You love taking a bath and kicking your legs in the water. You prefer to sit up like a big girl instead of lying on your back. You are extremely active and can never sit still. You are also a huge fan of riding in the car. You are often asleep by the time we pull out of the driveway.

Sleeping: We are starting to get on a schedule. Every night between 9 and 10 pm we start your bedtime routine. You love to be swaddled. We read a bedtime story, say our prayers, and put your pajamas on. During the day, you usually take three naps, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and an evening nap. I love that you sleep with your arms raised above your head.

Firsts:

You attended your first University of Texas event at 8 weeks. Your mom was super nervous about taking you to the basketball game, but you proved me wrong again. You were an angel. You sat on your daddy's lap and just stared at all the flashing lights. You were mesmerized.

She was made to be a Longhorn!

Happy two months sweet baby girl! We love watching you grow and respond to the world.
