Doneski!

Well friends, I am saying goodbye to my blog.

I know my faithful readers are all devastated (all five of you:) But it's time to throw in the towel.

I can't do something half heartedly. And this blog has gone down the toilet.

I used to enjoy blogging. I would wind down each night telling a funny story or how Randy woke me up in the middle of the night because he thought there was a snake in the bed. (Oh, that was a great post if I do say so myself). The only waking up in the middle of the night these days revolves around feeding sweet Cam (which has tapered off to practically never, but since I wrote this she'll probably wake up twice tonight).

I wind down these days by washing bottles and checking my email. Sometimes I'll go through my Facebook newsfeed. I rarely make it all the way through the new updates before I fall fast asleep.

I'm at a new junction in my life and this blog that I started on New Year's Day in 2010 has helped me chronicle the last 2.5 years. I blogged everything from recipes to crafts to incessant bragging about my sweet Mopac. I wrote funny teaching stories, grad school fire drills, and the ups and downs of trying to become parents. My favorite posts are all the pregnancy posts because I don't know if I'll ever get that experience again. I sure hope and pray that I do, but nonetheless it was fun documenting all the changes.

Some nights I lie down and mentally go through my list of things that didn't get accomplished that day that I had planned on doing. I'm soon learning as a new mom that this list will always be long. I just don't want to have blogging on it at this point in my life. I have loved all the changes in my life especially the little girl that has stolen my heart like no one else could ever do.

Speaking of change, I haven't been able to exactly keep up with all the changes.

I haven't blogged about my first Mother's Day, Randy's new job, or what I made for dinner the last couple of nights. The list goes on and on. And let me just tell you, what I'm cooking for dinner these days is nothing to write home about. I had ground meat thawed and on the way home I was thinking that hamburger steaks with balsamic glazed onions sounded delicious. Want to know what I made? After I browned my hamburger meat, I dumped some left over queso and a can of rotel along with a packet of taco seasoning and some rotini noodles together in a skillet and boiled it until the noodles were soft. That's called Hamburger Helper. (Insert shame here!) I can't even say "healthier" Hamburger Helper because the sodium factor didn't decrease because of the taco seasoning. It was edible but not up to my normal standards.

I love being a mom. My focus is Campbell, and there is nothing I would rather do than spend as much time as I can with my little girl. This includes me spending less time in the kitchen and by default serving my family sandwiches and hamburger helper!:) Blogging has become a chore, and I'm sadly saying goodbye. :( I might pick up a post if something dramatic happens or to post a cute picture of Campbell, but for now, I need a break.

It's been a great journey! I will miss blogging, but for now I'm excited to stop writing "blog" on my things to do list.

Thanks for keeping up with my sweet family, reading all my crazy posts, and leaving any comments!

See you on Facebook! (maybe) (sometimes) (oh you know, I won't be able to NOT post pictures of my beautiful little Campbell!)

4 months

Happy Four Months Baby Love!!!!

This past month has been the most fun! You are smiling and cooing and talking nonstop. You give us your biggest toothless grins, and they melt our hearts. You are really starting to develop a little personality. You are our chatter box for sure. I think you get that from me. I could be wrong. :)

I love chewing on my hand!!!!

Highlights

Eating: We really need to ask at your wellness check up this week when we can start solids/cereal. I have a bad feeling we'll get the standard answer I've found all over the online message boards, "For children with food allergies, we usually wait until six months." You are eating through those expensive cans like they are free! You usually suck down 5 oz. at a feeding.

Sleeping: You are doing better and better at sleeping through the night. You'll sleep on average 8-9 hours a night 3-4 times a week. Those other nights are kind of a sleepy blur, literally. You'll wake up at 2 or 3 am ready to eat. After we feed you, you go right back to sleep until morning. Bless you for that. (This is where that cereal would come in handy!) Your dad and I take turns with the middle of the night feeds. Of course when it's his turn, you'll sleep all the way through until 6:30am. That might be a good thing though. After he brought me to you for your feeding one night last week, he turned around to go use the restroom. He walked right smack dab into the wall. Sheesh, I'm glad you were already in my arms and not his.

Naps are getting better. You take a morning nap for around 2 hours and an afternoon nap for about an hour and a half or two. I did see a really cute onesie on Zullily the other day that I forced myself not to buy. (I could really use a paycheck for the full amount. Maternity leave was expensive!) The onesie said, "Naps are for sissies." hahaha

Size: You are wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9 month onesies. Those onesies get shorter and shorter each week! Your diapers are size 2, and you enjoy the Pampers' Swaddlers during the day. At night, we had to switch to the Huggies Overnight diapers because you were having some major leakage during the middle of the night. Your Dr. Seuss crib sheets are starting to have a little bit of a fade on them from the washing! We might be switching to the boring ole' white ones soon! We won't mention that the Huggies are more expensive too! Another reason sleeping through the night could help all around Campbell Wamble!

Responding/Growing: You are spending less and less time on your back these days. I'm hoping this will help out in the old man bald spot area. You have more control over your body when you sit in your Bumbo and aren't nearly as wobbly when we hold you. You love to roll over. You almost tried this on me during one of your baths. Not.a.good.idea.

The moment you're on your stomach, you start getting frustrated. You rock your body back and forth, and you're ready to go! You can scoot pretty far before the frustrations get the best of you and you give out!

The drooling factor is in full force. You can soak your onesie in ten minutes flat. You started wearing bibs to protect your clothes, and you love them! It's something that you can more easily stuff in your mouth to chew on rather than your shirt.

Another thing you love is your teething rings especially the ones right out of the fridge. You also love, love, love your Baby Einstein jumper! This was a good buy!

You still love riding in the car and bath time is your favorite part of our evening/bedtime routine.

Mommy and daddy love to make you laugh and smile. You are the highlight of our lives. I didn't know I could love someone so much! Every night when we say our prayers together, I always thank God for you! We are beyond blessed to have the opportunity to be your parents. We love you Campbell Lyn!

finally Friday

I will be definitely visiting Starbucks tomorrow! Nothing like a looooooooooooooooong week of standardized testing... Iced Grande Non-fat Caramel Macchiato, please. Barista: "Do you want the whipped cream?" If you pretend you didn't hear them, they'll add it for you. You can then consider it was an "accident." And when you walk into work still sporting some of that lovely pregnancy weight, you can explain to everyone that they gave you whipped cream and you didn't even want it.

Buzz Crasher

One of my favorite parts of the evening is taking an after dinner walk. We do this every single night, and I love it. It's a great time for Randy and me to catch up. Mopac loves to sniff out everyone's yard, and Campbell enjoys sitting in her stroller and chewing on her hands.

Well I'm thankful tonight's walk wasn't a solo adventure. Earlier in the weekend, Randy mentioned he would be leaving tonight to catch an early flight out in the morning from San Antonio to Louisiana. He's going on a work field trip! Are you ready for this?

He's going to visit a pipe plant!

Wow! I can't wait to see what my souvenir will be!

This plant manufactures a new material used in pipes.

I'm excited about the fact he's leaving tomorrow and not tonight. He's excited because well he's nerdy, and enjoys things like this.

On our walks, we usually discuss our days. And tonight I had something great to share! I had to tell him this hilarious story.

I was driving to work this morning, and I witnessed the funniest thing.

This little bitty woman was walking her dog. It was a Labradoodle!

These dogs crack me up!

This big guy was having a ball. He was flinging his arms and legs all over the place. He was galloping and tripping over his back paws. He kept jumping up and trying to chew on the leash.

It was hysterical. This woman was having the hardest time crossing the street with this goofy dog. This dog was the definition of care-free! And I thought it was the highlight of my day.

Well apparently I wasn't telling the story very well because I wasn't getting any reaction from Randy.

I mean, it was a pretty funny story. And Randy just stared at me!

I had to up the ante in my story telling abilities. So I started acting it out. I started galloping and flailing my arms around and kicking out my legs. I was biting at the air pretending there was a leash.

Clearly this story was worth looking like a complete idiot.

That's how funny this story is people.

"Randy he couldn't even control his own arms and legs. He was flying all over the place!"

Still.nothing.

He finally looks at me and with the straightest face possible replies with,

"Penny, dogs don't have arms."

I have no words for this...

Other than it makes since that he is looking forward to visiting a pipe manufacturing factory tomorrow.

What a Debbie Downer!

It was a great story. Just so you know!

Lately...

Because you can never have too many pictures...

(We're setting that picture bar pretty high for the second child!)

Because it's a requirement to take bluebonnet pictures every spring!

Because you can never be too young to cheer on the Horns at DKR! (Spring Game!)

Because you always need a cute Easter dress!

Because you have to document your 4th month birthday with a picture!

And 4 months and 2 days!

Magical Toy

Happy 4 months Campbell! We snagged this for her to celebrate her 4th month of life, that and because she now has more balance!

This amazing creation by Disney is fabulous! Campbell is fascinated by all the different activities. She can't quite reach the floor yet, so we have to put a pillow on the floor.

Penny: Did you see all the cool things this thing does?

Randy: I know, I kinda want an Adult Einstein.

Penny: It has so many different lights and functions.

Randy: It better for how much it costs. I'm waiting for it to lay a golden egg.

No golden egg yet! But tons of play time!

3 months

Campbell- 3 months

This month has been one of many changes. I am amazed at how many new things you can do. Somethings literally happened over night!

Highlights

Eating: You are still my little piggy! You eat every three or four hours, and you can suck down 4 oz. no problem. At night, you usually can drink 5 oz. Your burps can clearly be heard across the county. My new favorite thing you're doing is clutching your burp raps when you eat. You love holding things in your hands. I think it's precious how you go into your food comas after you eat your night bottle. You're so tired, we can't even get you to burp. You plop your head down and are out for the count.

Sleeping: Daycare wears you out! You usually go to bed around 8:30. You are so tired each night. And since you're miss nosey pants all day long, you're overly stimulated, which leads to some crying and screeching. I can get you to sleep and then exactly one hour later, you wake up screaming. Half the time your eyes are still closed. After another ounce or feeling mommy's hand on your tummy, you're back asleep until about 4am. We're getting closer to this whole sleeping through the night concept. (keep praying friends:) Oh, and we really need to figure out this screeching after an hour sleep business...

Size: You are wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes. And Momma's bows for your cute little head are getting bigger and bigger which means you're little head needs to grow some:)

Responding: You love to track the back lights on our cell phones. We move the phones around, and you just follow it! You're also obsessed with the pattern of my cell phone case, which makes for camera photo taking shoots a little awkward when you give the camera phone the dirtiest looks!

You also enjoy sitting up more. You still got quite a lean going on when we put you in your bumbo, but your neck muscles and balance has improved greatly! You don't even like to lie back in your car seat anymore. You look like a little bird holding your head up and forward. You're my back seat driver. What a little helper!!!

Sleeping: Campbell is in her big girl crib now! This means that mom and dad are sleeping better too. We finally moved Campbell out of our room and into her room. When I say "we," I mean her daddy. I probably needed the push. I kept making excuse after excuse of why we needed her to still sleep in her bassinet next to our bed. Daddy is tough!

We also got you out of your swaddle. You can now sleep without startling yourself, which is a major plus.

Firsts:

Campbell rolled over! She did the whole dang thing from stomach to back AND back to stomach. I can barely believe it.

Quit growing up so fast:(

Marchy things

This blog is going to the pooper.

I am beyond behind.

Campbell turned three months last week, and I started working.

Campbell clearly didn't get the "you can't cry anymore because your mom is working again" memo.

I have never been this disorganized in my life. Wait, I take that back, I should probably revisit my life say in January. Let's be honest, that whole newborn stuff is for the birds. Eating every 2 hours, being a jersey cow, changing a gazillion diapers each day...yah I'm glad we've made significant progress in just two months.

But enough complaining...my little girl is growing!

And as precious as can be, if I do say so myself!

See what I mean?

I survived my first week back at work. And it wasn't bad at all. I love having the adult interaction back. I love that someone who knows far more than me about raising a child is doing all these cool things with her. Ms. Vicki is amazing. She keeps my sugar bear super busy. Every day they do floor exercises and tummy time. I didn't even know babies could do floor exercises. These help with their stability and balance. Hmmm good to know. She does eye tracking exercises with her too. Campbell's favorite part of the day is when the toddlers sing all their songs and story time. Burst out with the ABC's, and Cam is all smiles.

We did educational things too when I had Campbell at home all day (like go to Target and avoid being at home.)

I was not made to be a stay at home mom. Sure it was sad leaving her those first couple of days. And I miss her like crazy at work. But I like what I do. I worked hard to get to where I'm at. I enjoy the pace and hectic-ness. I like having a schedule. I like that we are putting money aside monthly to pay for her college.

And I like shopping. And you can't shop without a job.

Penny: "Yah,part of me is glad I'm back at work so I can buy Campbell cute things."
Randy: (disgusted) "You mean like her insurance, formula, and day care. Not cute things."

Ha! I bought her two new outfits from zulily on my first day back at work. It was my "reward" for making it through the morning.

There will be cute things in store for Campbell!

So here's to work.

And here's to working in a place where I get 9 weeks off during the year.

So here's to 45 more days left in the school year! (one of my sixth graders told me this number, so I can't verify yet. I've been catching up and checking my 500 something emails).

And lastly, here's to bedtime.

Doomsday!

Where did the last three months go?

Tomorrow is going to SUCK!

I go back to work, and I know I'm going to cry buckets.

I made Campbell promise she wouldn't do any of that cute business she does so well from the hours of 7:30am-5pm.

Oh, what a long day ahead I have.

Big girl pants are ironed for tomorrow. I might even need a Starbucks!

2 months

Campbell- 2 months

You are a growing girl!!!

At your two month check up, you weighed 12 lbs, 8 oz. (75-90th percentile) and measured 24 inches long (90-95th percentile).

This month has been challenging with figuring out the solution to a milk protein intolerance. After we got all that figured out, we started to see big smiles and developmental changes. It's been fun!

Highlights

Eating: You are always hungry! You eat every 3-4 hours. Additionally we give you a teaspoon of dark Karo syrup in two of your bottles and prune/apple juice mixed with water once every other day to help umm keep things moving. You love both of these additions. I suspect we will have a pecan pie lover later in life.

Pooping: You now struggle with this and gas. You have TONS of gas. And you do quite a lot of grunting.

As you can see your mother has no problem discussing poops and toots. Who would of thought talking about poop would be a dinner conversation these days?

Sleeping: On average you can make it 5 hours before you wake up for your feeding. One day you surprised me with making it to 8 hours, but then you deflated my hope balloon by waking up 5 times throughout the night the very next day.

Size: You are wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. Some of your footed pajamas are starting to get too small. Your legs are so long and it's causing your knees to buckle.

Your mom is obsessed with hair bows, dresses, and all things frilly. You look great in blue and lilac which compliments your baby blue eyes. Oh I hope they don't change color.

Responding: You are obsessed with bright lights and the television. You love watching both of these and stare at them for hours. You are making more and more eye contact. At 7 weeks you started smiling. Each day we get more and more smiles out of you. This melts your momma's heart. You also can find me anywhere in the room by listening for my voice.

Tummy time is happening for about 30 minutes throughout the day. You have such a strong neck.

You love taking a bath and kicking your legs in the water. You prefer to sit up like a big girl instead of lying on your back. You are extremely active and can never sit still. You are also a huge fan of riding in the car. You are often asleep by the time we pull out of the driveway.

Sleeping: We are starting to get on a schedule. Every night between 9 and 10 pm we start your bedtime routine. You love to be swaddled. We read a bedtime story, say our prayers, and put your pajamas on. During the day, you usually take three naps, one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and an evening nap. I love that you sleep with your arms raised above your head.

Firsts:

You attended your first University of Texas event at 8 weeks. Your mom was super nervous about taking you to the basketball game, but you proved me wrong again. You were an angel. You sat on your daddy's lap and just stared at all the flashing lights. You were mesmerized.

She was made to be a Longhorn!

Happy two months sweet baby girl! We love watching you grow and respond to the world.

Product Love

I don't have many new products to love. Being dairy free will do that to you. I can safely say that I won't be posting a picture of almond milk. Thank goodness I'm done with all that no dairy crud. I like my milk with no words such as soy, coconut, or almond in front of it.

But speaking of almonds, these are delicious.

Yummy! I'd say they sorta taste like bacon, but that might dissuade you from buying. However I don't know how the word "bacon" could possibly do that.

You can thank Mr. Wonka (aka Randy). He bought 4 big bags of these little morsels. Money well spent according to him. I have to agree. I'm not even nuts about jelly beans unless it's the Jelly Belly tutti fruiti or buttered popcorn flavors (stop judging me for the b.popcorn flavor...it is delicious!) These are fab!

Validation

Today was Campbell's 2 month doctor appointment. I still have not posted her 2 month post. But don't worry, "Blog" is on my things to do list and it has an asterisk next to it.

This means it must get done. The asterisk means no more messing around and putting it off. It's one of my nerdy ways to go above and beyond the things to do list by prioritizing the things to do.

Our pediatrician made me feel great today. He completely validated all of my feelings from week 4 to about 7.

Pediatrician: "You guys had quite the road to get to this point. Most parents don't deal with what yall were going through."

Amen brother!

Seriously, I'm not trying to sound like a martyr. Campbell is a healthy and active little girl. She just wasn't a happy little girl which made for a long 3.5 weeks.

I felt like such a bad mom. I would feel incredibly guilty when people would comment, "Isn't being a mother the best thing ever?" I would just grin and think to myself, "No, the best thing ever would be throwing a pacifier at your head." I just didn't fit in the "happy mother group."

I was too exhausted and overwhelmed to be happy.

Even our dog groomer who sees Mopac 4-5 times a year commented to Randy when he picked up Mopac from an appointment, "Is Penny okay? She looked exhausted."

Today our pediatrician said, "It's great to see baby AND mom smiling. You and your husband looked so worn out."

Yes, it was taxing on Randy as well. So taxing, he removed himself from the shrieking nightly from the hours of 11pm to 7 am by sleeping in the spare bedroom. See he had to go work. And since I enjoyed the Food Network all day...anyway. It's something that I'm not going to hold over his head. (My fingers are crossed.)

But life is improving. My little girl is smiling and happy. See for yourself.

I love this picture!!

She loves her special formula. And we love seeing her this way. We even are submitting a medical claim and a letter from her doctor to insurance to see if they will help cover the cost of the formula since it's medically necessary (more like psychologically necessary for her parents.)

Another improvement, we are calling her the right name. Randy and I both called her Mopac several times. I'm also happy to announce that I haven't called her Cameron in about 2 weeks.

First rule of parenting: Get your child's name right.

One Month

Campbell (and her parents) survived her first month of life. I was supposed to write this oh about 5 weeks ago. I was too exhausted to barely keep breathing yet alone blog.

So here it is written as if it was January 20th. Just imagine people.

Campbell- 1 month

Campbell the first month of your life could be summed up with three words...
Sleeping, Eating, Pooping

That's all you did.

Looking back over that first month it's such a blur. These posts will get much better Campbell.

Your mommy was a walking hormonal zombie. Thank goodness for my mom. Mimi stayed for about a week and a half. (It was so great having her here. She was a tremendous help and an experience I'll treasure forever. Oh how I love that woman.)

Campbell, I hope you will love me one day as much as I love your Mimi.

Highlights

Eating: This is your favorite part of the day. You are quite the little piggy. We can't even pause the feeding to burp you without you starting your whining cry. This cry is hysterical. It's your "I'm stubborn like my daddy cry." Hence why I started calling you "Little Randy."

Pooping: My goodness this happens way too often. I had no idea babies could poop 8 to 10 times a day. I.n.t.e.n.s.e.

First bath: Mimi helped me give you your first bath. You loved the warm water. You loved it so much that you pooped in the water. It was disgusting and will be something we will give you a hard time about later.

Sleeping: We really don't have a set schedule. You cry; we react. During the night, you usually wake up every 2-3 hours to eat.

Size: You are wearing newborn diapers and newborn clothes. I can't believe you are this small. At your one month appointment, you weighed 10 lbs., 3 oz. (75th percentile) and measured 22 3/4 inches(95th percentile). You have such chubby, kissable cheeks and long legs. Your daddy calls you "Cheeks."

Responding: One of my favorite things about the first month of your life is how you would follow me with your eyes when I would talk. You would turn your head towards the direction of my voice. I must have a voice of an angel. :)

Happy one month sweet baby girl! We are so excited you are apart of our family!

Snap shots!

We take tons and tons of pictures of little Ms. Campbell.

Remember a while back, I said I was going to post 5 pictures every 2 weeks. Hahaha!

Look at me being all ambitious.

That idea is gone...long gone.

But here are some pictures during the last month.

(I can't believe she's going to be two months tomorrow. I need to do a two month post and a 1 month post...sheez, this blog is going to the crapper.)

Feeling Good

My little girl is happy!

I can't believe it. She's just lying on her mat right now kicking her legs and smiling.

I feel like something must be wrong. She is never content. She never just relaxes.

She is usually fussing or needing to be held.

I even called my mom and asked if this is normal behavior.

I'm not even sure what to do with myself.

Oh wait, yes I am. I have free arms. I made cookies, cleaned the bathrooms, did laundry, made dinner, mopped the floor. Oh I'm loving this.

My baby girl is happy. She is loving her filet mignon formula. And we are on day 9 of milk proteins getting out of her system.

This is heaven!!!

Randy-ism

Randy: "Hey Penny, when we go upstairs, will you swaddle me with the quilt on our bed?"

Penny: "What????"

Randy: "Yah, I want to see how it feels. I bet it feels good to be all snug and secure."

I am not swaddling my husband!

Got Milk?

So it's time for a Campbell update...

My poor sugar's tummy is clearly not a fan of milk.

What baby doesn't like milk?

Well, she likes it. It doesn't like her.

The lowdown:

Breast feeding is/was super important to me. I was warned to not get too attached to the idea of nursing in case things don't work out. I thought, "hog wash." Well, now I sit here feeling incredibly guilty. I feel like I let my little girl down.

No more breast milk for Campbell:(

We struggled with nursing from the very beginning. She lost more than 10 percent of her body weight days after her birth. She had a hard time latching. The lactation specialist told us she had a bubble pallet and it'll take a couple of days/weeks for it to level out. The pediatrician told us her mouth was exceptionally tiny.

Either way, we struggled. I cried and cried and cried. So if she can't nurse, I'll pump. Breast milk in a bottle is still breast milk.

So I was a slave to my pump. I pumped 6-8 times a day. I washed and sterilized pumping equipment and valves constantly. I would wake up and feed Campbell and then pump and then clean equipment. Each routine would take about an 1.5. I was determined to make it work. I'm so stinking proud of myself that I was able to give her breast milk for the first month of her life.

Well the whole process was exhausting. I was worn down, and I got sick. I was on antibiotics and my milk supply suffered. The day after her one month birthday, we had to supplement with formula.

And here comes the problem...the cow's milk in the formula tipped her over the edge.

She got really cranky. And when I say cranky, I mean constipated. I mean screaming for 20 hours a day. It was terrible to watch her in so much pain.

After two rectal stimulations and 2 enemas, I was hopeful things were flushed out. It got worse. Four more days of constant shrieking. It was the worst week of my life.

I cried. She cried. She screamed. I wanted to scream. Even Mopac was stressed and was acting out. The Lueders' household was chaotic.

Luckily my pediatrician is brilliant. Although I think he should take me up on the idea of implementing a frequent flyer punch card. For every 9th visit, your 10th visit is free. :) Kinda like frozen yogurt.

After two trials of special formulas, we found a fit. The doctor believed she had a milk protein intolerance.

That means if I wanted to continue giving her breast milk, I would have to eliminate all dairy in my diet.

See Campbell can't digest the two proteins found in milk. The formula she's on is the royal royce of formula. Her high maintenance formula takes the milk proteins and breaks them down to amino acids. All for the very low price of 90 dollars a can.

Yep, that's right. And who said, "Kids are expensive?" Luckily we are able to get it from the wholesaler and only have to pay 40 dollars a can...only! Now if we can find a way to stretch a can out longer than four days :/

Well I went dairy free and it sucked! For two weeks, I read every label. Let me tell you, milk is in everything, even bread!!! Think about what butter is in...cakes, cookies, etc. Basically everything other than meats, fruits, and veggies have milk. Basically I've been starving for the last two weeks. I lost ten more pounds though. I'm almost back to pre pregnancy weight!!!

But seriously, I'd rather have ice cream. Vegans have earned a huge amount of respect from this carnivore. They can't have meat, dairy, eggs. Oh my goodness, what do they eat?

Last week, I was able to introduce breast milk back in her diet since I've been dairy free. Let me tell you, it was AWFUL!!!! It didn't work. She had 32 oz. over four days and on the fourth day broke out with this terrible rash on her face. Being the smart lady I am, I thought to take pictures. Not to mention the intense screaming returned:(

This has brought an end to breast milk. I can't watch her suffer. Breast milk is best, but in our case that's not true. I tried my hardest, and it's time to throw in the towel. The rash was actually eczema. There's still something in my milk that she's reacting to which means she has a very high intolerance to something. It could be milk proteins or something else since most dairy was eliminated (i.e. eggs, wheat, who knows?) Today the pediatrician and I agreed it's best for her health to stop trying. I'd have to eliminate more things in my diet, and it's still not conclusive it would work. Tonight, I mourn a little she won't have breast milk, but I will celebrate eating dairy! :)

Where do we go from here? Well we are getting referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist. We'll probably have to do some type of allergy testing at around six months to figure out and pin point what she's actually allergic or intolerant to.

Does this mean my child will be sitting at the peanut free table in the school cafeteria? Our pediatrician believes she will outgrow this. Most of his patients with milk intolerances don't develop food aversions. I hope so. He's not worried, but he wants to find out what exactly is the cause. The silver lining: her rash was not hives. If it was hives, we'd have something more serious that could be life threatening like a peanut allergy. Praise God.

If you could say a little prayer for my sweet girl. She's been incredibly fussy. It takes two weeks for milk proteins to get out of your system, and we are on day four. Each day gets better which is promising. Also pray that she outgrows this and her little tummy can one day enjoy all the fabulous things that her momma will be gorging on tonight, like chocolate and ice cream:)

Sorry for being the longest post ever!
