4 months

Happy Four Months Baby Love!!!!

This past month has been the most fun! You are smiling and cooing and talking nonstop. You give us your biggest toothless grins, and they melt our hearts. You are really starting to develop a little personality. You are our chatter box for sure. I think you get that from me. I could be wrong. :)

I love chewing on my hand!!!!


Highlights



Eating: We really need to ask at your wellness check up this week when we can start solids/cereal. I have a bad feeling we'll get the standard answer I've found all over the online message boards, "For children with food allergies, we usually wait until six months." You are eating through those expensive cans like they are free! You usually suck down 5 oz. at a feeding.


Sleeping: You are doing better and better at sleeping through the night. You'll sleep on average 8-9 hours a night 3-4 times a week. Those other nights are kind of a sleepy blur, literally. You'll wake up at 2 or 3 am ready to eat. After we feed you, you go right back to sleep until morning. Bless you for that. (This is where that cereal would come in handy!) Your dad and I take turns with the middle of the night feeds. Of course when it's his turn, you'll sleep all the way through until 6:30am. That might be a good thing though. After he brought me to you for your feeding one night last week, he turned around to go use the restroom. He walked right smack dab into the wall. Sheesh, I'm glad you were already in my arms and not his.

Naps are getting better. You take a morning nap for around 2 hours and an afternoon nap for about an hour and a half or two. I did see a really cute onesie on Zullily the other day that I forced myself not to buy. (I could really use a paycheck for the full amount. Maternity leave was expensive!) The onesie said, "Naps are for sissies." hahaha


Size: You are wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9 month onesies. Those onesies get shorter and shorter each week! Your diapers are size 2, and you enjoy the Pampers' Swaddlers during the day. At night, we had to switch to the Huggies Overnight diapers because you were having some major leakage during the middle of the night. Your Dr. Seuss crib sheets are starting to have a little bit of a fade on them from the washing! We might be switching to the boring ole' white ones soon! We won't mention that the Huggies are more expensive too! Another reason sleeping through the night could help all around Campbell Wamble!

Responding/Growing: You are spending less and less time on your back these days. I'm hoping this will help out in the old man bald spot area. You have more control over your body when you sit in your Bumbo and aren't nearly as wobbly when we hold you. You love to roll over. You almost tried this on me during one of your baths. Not.a.good.idea.

The moment you're on your stomach, you start getting frustrated. You rock your body back and forth, and you're ready to go! You can scoot pretty far before the frustrations get the best of you and you give out!


The drooling factor is in full force. You can soak your onesie in ten minutes flat. You started wearing bibs to protect your clothes, and you love them! It's something that you can more easily stuff in your mouth to chew on rather than your shirt.

Another thing you love is your teething rings especially the ones right out of the fridge. You also love, love, love your Baby Einstein jumper! This was a good buy!

You still love riding in the car and bath time is your favorite part of our evening/bedtime routine.

Mommy and daddy love to make you laugh and smile. You are the highlight of our lives. I didn't know I could love someone so much! Every night when we say our prayers together, I always thank God for you! We are beyond blessed to have the opportunity to be your parents. We love you Campbell Lyn!

finally Friday

I will be definitely visiting Starbucks tomorrow! Nothing like a looooooooooooooooong week of standardized testing... Iced Grande Non-fat Caramel Macchiato, please. Barista: "Do you want the whipped cream?" If you pretend you didn't hear them, they'll add it for you. You can then consider it was an "accident." And when you walk into work still sporting some of that lovely pregnancy weight, you can explain to everyone that they gave you whipped cream and you didn't even want it.

Buzz Crasher

One of my favorite parts of the evening is taking an after dinner walk. We do this every single night, and I love it. It's a great time for Randy and me to catch up. Mopac loves to sniff out everyone's yard, and Campbell enjoys sitting in her stroller and chewing on her hands.

Well I'm thankful tonight's walk wasn't a solo adventure. Earlier in the weekend, Randy mentioned he would be leaving tonight to catch an early flight out in the morning from San Antonio to Louisiana. He's going on a work field trip! Are you ready for this?

He's going to visit a pipe plant!

Wow! I can't wait to see what my souvenir will be!

This plant manufactures a new material used in pipes.

I'm excited about the fact he's leaving tomorrow and not tonight. He's excited because well he's nerdy, and enjoys things like this.

On our walks, we usually discuss our days. And tonight I had something great to share! I had to tell him this hilarious story.

I was driving to work this morning, and I witnessed the funniest thing.

This little bitty woman was walking her dog. It was a Labradoodle!


These dogs crack me up!

This big guy was having a ball. He was flinging his arms and legs all over the place. He was galloping and tripping over his back paws. He kept jumping up and trying to chew on the leash.

It was hysterical. This woman was having the hardest time crossing the street with this goofy dog. This dog was the definition of care-free! And I thought it was the highlight of my day.

Well apparently I wasn't telling the story very well because I wasn't getting any reaction from Randy.

I mean, it was a pretty funny story. And Randy just stared at me!

I had to up the ante in my story telling abilities. So I started acting it out. I started galloping and flailing my arms around and kicking out my legs. I was biting at the air pretending there was a leash.

Clearly this story was worth looking like a complete idiot.

That's how funny this story is people.

"Randy he couldn't even control his own arms and legs. He was flying all over the place!"

Still.nothing.

He finally looks at me and with the straightest face possible replies with,

"Penny, dogs don't have arms."



I have no words for this...

Other than it makes since that he is looking forward to visiting a pipe manufacturing factory tomorrow.

Magical Toy

Happy 4 months Campbell! We snagged this for her to celebrate her 4th month of life, that and because she now has more balance!

This amazing creation by Disney is fabulous! Campbell is fascinated by all the different activities. She can't quite reach the floor yet, so we have to put a pillow on the floor.

Penny: Did you see all the cool things this thing does?

Randy: I know, I kinda want an Adult Einstein.

Penny: It has so many different lights and functions.

Randy: It better for how much it costs. I'm waiting for it to lay a golden egg.

No golden egg yet! But tons of play time!

3 months

Campbell- 3 months







This month has been one of many changes. I am amazed at how many new things you can do. Somethings literally happened over night!



Highlights

Eating: You are still my little piggy! You eat every three or four hours, and you can suck down 4 oz. no problem. At night, you usually can drink 5 oz. Your burps can clearly be heard across the county. My new favorite thing you're doing is clutching your burp raps when you eat. You love holding things in your hands. I think it's precious how you go into your food comas after you eat your night bottle. You're so tired, we can't even get you to burp. You plop your head down and are out for the count.

Sleeping: Daycare wears you out! You usually go to bed around 8:30. You are so tired each night. And since you're miss nosey pants all day long, you're overly stimulated, which leads to some crying and screeching. I can get you to sleep and then exactly one hour later, you wake up screaming. Half the time your eyes are still closed. After another ounce or feeling mommy's hand on your tummy, you're back asleep until about 4am. We're getting closer to this whole sleeping through the night concept. (keep praying friends:) Oh, and we really need to figure out this screeching after an hour sleep business...

Size: You are wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes. And Momma's bows for your cute little head are getting bigger and bigger which means you're little head needs to grow some:)

Responding: You love to track the back lights on our cell phones. We move the phones around, and you just follow it! You're also obsessed with the pattern of my cell phone case, which makes for camera photo taking shoots a little awkward when you give the camera phone the dirtiest looks!

You also enjoy sitting up more. You still got quite a lean going on when we put you in your bumbo, but your neck muscles and balance has improved greatly! You don't even like to lie back in your car seat anymore. You look like a little bird holding your head up and forward. You're my back seat driver. What a little helper!!!

Sleeping: Campbell is in her big girl crib now! This means that mom and dad are sleeping better too. We finally moved Campbell out of our room and into her room. When I say "we," I mean her daddy. I probably needed the push. I kept making excuse after excuse of why we needed her to still sleep in her bassinet next to our bed. Daddy is tough!

We also got you out of your swaddle. You can now sleep without startling yourself, which is a major plus.

Firsts:

Campbell rolled over! She did the whole dang thing from stomach to back AND back to stomach. I can barely believe it.
